One of the most matured albums by CoB...

As Children of Bodom deliver their 8th and one of the most awaited albums yet, with ,Was it Worth it, topping the number of views on you tube. It seems that this time, their material is one of the most matured and sorted ones. I have followed and listened to CoB now for the past 2 years and I have heard all their albums. I am happy to say that this one is the best of them all and this is the CoB album that I have heard for the maximum number of times.

On the first listen, I felt that the songs were too boring and some sort of 'outdated stuff'. But when I actually started to catch the melody of the tracks, it just blew me off. The best one I think is 'Northpole Throwdown' and the title track. With Not my Funeral being a very catchy song, owing to those drum solos in the song. On the whole it is one of their best on this nerve wrecking, soul trembling, and hair raising album.

This time Alexi Laiho seems to have put the more darker part of his throat on the vocals. The vocals seem to be more stronger and darker as well .One of the key things that makes this album different from the others is that there are no long and constant growls, that we see other melodic death bands inculcating into their songs, hence when it comes to 'Relentless Reckless Forever' the things become clear from the start, its not trying to throw you to some new universe, and then kind of say, 'Hey common let's now go back'.

What i fell is that 'pussyfoot miss suicide','ugly' and 'cry of the nhilist' seem to be as perfect melodic death songs made to 100% perfection, just one needs to catch the melody of these ones, that has intellegentaly put in the vocals. And everything said about 'Not my funeral' is less, this one just blows my mind, and it has become the most famous one of all.

Also recently it alongwith 'roundtrip to hell....and back' at Wacken open air 2011, as a part of their ugly world tour.
