Hacavitz is a brutal death metal band from central Mexico. This album is regarded as their debut, yet they had a demo out before this album. Venganza means revenge in Spanish. The theme of the album is Mictlan ( the underworld of the dead ) and the black magic of the ancient Mexican tribes. The album starts off with a latin style drum solo, with the sounds of ocean waves hitting the beach and screaming in the background. Then an old Catholic hymm plays for about 20 seconds, before breaking into some fast and ugly death metal. The music is similar to early Morbid Angel and fast paced punk rock. It is a raw and crude style, yet very creative. The guitar and bass are grinding heavily in each song. The drumming is excellent and the vocals sound like demonic bellowing. This is an awesome black metal album. In between songs are the audio of people screaming, this gets a little old. My favorite song on the album is Old Rancor.
