Stream Of Passion

Here is a ninterview of Marcela Bovio, from Stream Of Passion.
Thanks a lot to her.

interview Stream Of PassionHello Marcela, thanks to answer to our questions, You are the singeress of a band from Nederland although you are Mexican...is that not too hard ?
M: Well, I did have a bit of a hard time getting used to living in Holland and leaving Mexico behind. But for the rest it's all been quite great; the guys and I work very well together and have lots of fun performing.

How is born Stream Of Passion ?
M: Years ago I was chosen by Dutch multi instrumentalist Arjen Lucassen via a contest he made to play a part on one of his Ayreon rock operas, 'The Human Equation'. He flew me over to Holland to record in his studio, and our collaboration went so well that after the CD was released he invited me to start a project with the two of us; he wrote the music and I the vocal melodies and lyrics. Eventually we decided it would be nice to have a band to work with, and started looking for musicians. That's how Stream of Passion was born.

Become a metal singeress, was it a choice for you?
M: It wasn't a conscious choice, but I've always loved singing and I've always enjoyed heavy, very emotional music. So I just basically put those two things together [:)]

After the first album "Embrace the Storm" with Arjen Lucassen, and the " live in the real world", it seems that Stream Of Passion turn to another way, could you give us enhancement ?
M: We went through a lot of line up changes, starting with Arjen leaving the band to continue with his other musical projects. He was the main songwriter in the band, so after he left we had to start figuring out everything all over again. So I took the leadership in the songwriting department and we star
interview Stream Of Passionted looking for a sound of our own.

Does the support of Arjen Lucassen be a serious help for your carreer ?
M: It most certainly was! If it wasn't for him we wouldn't be doing all the wonderful things we're doing now, so I will be forever thankful to him!

You sung also with your little sister Dianna on Live on the real World, do you wish to record another album with her ?
M: It would be lovely! Who knows, maybe in the future...

Could you describe your kind of music at the start of the band ?
M: I guess you can best describe it as dark, heavy and with that recognizable Lucassen vibe.

...And now, it seems that your music has changed ?
M: Yes, we keep evolving and looking for new dimensions in our music. The Latin influences and a bit more progressive touches are becoming more and more important in our sound.

You play also violin, is that easy with it to join a metal band ?
M: I actually started playing the violin because of My Dying Bride. They're also a metal band and they had a violin player; I loved the melancholy and emotion in their songs, and I thought "I want to do that too!". So I never questioned teh fact that it would be doable, and luckily neither have my band mates.

How far are you involved about song-writting ?
M: A lot. All initial song ideas and lyrics come from me; I come up with some arrangements, but mostly the more specific parts come from the rest of the band.

Now you are on tour (with Xandria) with Epica ? what about your feeling wi
interview Stream Of Passionth that tour ?
M: Well I'm back already, but it was definitely one of the most amazing tours I've ever been in. The audiences were amazing everywhere we went, and the people from Epica and Xandria were all a big delight to work with. We'll never forget it!

Do you have project for next months?
M: We're actually writing music for a new album, hopefully we'll be releasing it next year.

Wich band within do you like to be on tour next time? Or should it better for you to be the headband ?
M: We know already we'll be touring again with Epica in December, we're going back to France and the UK! I'm already very excited about it! So this seems like a great follow up tour; if we can do a headlinging tour in the future that would be great too.

You are living in holland, is that not too hard to live so far your birthcountry ?
M: Oh it definitely is. I had a lot of trouble getting used to it in the beginning; but luckily I've met a lot of wonderful people here and I've truly found my place. I'm happy!

What about the metal situation with a front woman in your country (Nederland or Mexico)
M: The scene is way bigger in Holland; I guess because of the success Dutch metal bands have had all over the world.

And last question, when can we hope to see and hear you next time in France?
M: In December this year! We'll be playing in Lille on December 8, and in Paris on December 9. Could be that other dates are added, so keep checking our website , Facebook and Twitter pages!

thanks a lot Marcela

It was my pleasure!
