I'm a big fan of Scandinavian metal, so I was eager to check out this new Swedish Hard Fm band called W.E.T. This is their debut album. The name W.E.T is an acronym, in which each letter stands for the first letter of the main band that the performer is active in. The W stands for the band Work Of Art, that guitarist Robert Sall belongs to. The letter E represents the band Eclipse, that bassist and keyboard player Erik Martenson are members of. The letter T signifies the band Talisman, for which vocalist Jeff Scott Soto is the main performer.

These 3 artists play for bands that work for the same label, Frontiers Records. That is how they met. They had similar musical tastes and ideas, especially with the songwriting. So they decided to join their efforts with this project band.

Vocalist Jeff Scott Soto has worked with Yngwie Malmstrom, Axel Rudi Pell,Soul SircUs, and Journey. There are also a lot choruses to back up his vocals. The main focus of the lyrical content seems to be about falling in love and relationships.

The first song, Invincible, starts off sounding like like a Don Henly song, then picks up the pace like a Dokken song. It's accompanied with keyboards. One Love rocks like another Dokken song, with keyboards. There is a cool guitar solo that sounds very complex, like something on a Dream Theater album. Brothers In Arms sounds very cheesy like Journey, with some faster interludes of music that sound similar to Dream Theater. It has a cool ending with a keyboard solo. Running From The Heartache sounds like REO Speedwagon. There is some talented guitar playing in this song. I'll Be There is a more explosive song, sounding more like Van Halen with Sammy Hagar. Damage Is Done is a lively song that sounds like something that Bon Jovi would do. Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is sounds like Van Halen with Sammy Hagar. One Day At A Time sounds slower and more emotional, it sounds like a Don Henly pop song. Just Go is the best song on this album, it rocks like Billy Squier or Loverboy. My Everything sounds like Van Halen with Sammy Hagar. If I Fall sounds like Journey.

These songs capitalize on love. There isn't enough darkness to balance this album out. Similar bands are Van Halen(Van Hagar), Journey, and Dokken(just their boring love songs).

This CD is the album of the year for me, the rating on this forum says 16/20 but I have rated it as a 19/20 it's that good! if you like melodic rock like Journey or The Storm then you will like this, the sound has a harder guitar edge to it which makes it rock a bit harder than the previously mentioned bands, but at the same time the melodies are just superb.
With an up to date production the songs just flow over you and once you've listened to it a couple of times the tracks just take hold and you can't get them out your head.
Brilliant stuff love it!! go buy it and you won't regret it.
