Crónica @ Victim_of_Deception

29 Noviembre 2009
We can sense some oddity to be found within the style here as the band deliver their operatic thoughts. The vocals reach many pitches, but stray out of ordinary wanderings very frequently. They are quite one of a kind and fit the proceedings, though I think they may be a little overdone. The style here is quite operatic and brings together a classical mood quite effectively. There is definitely a uniqueness to be found although whether that is an altogether good element is difficult to say. The band sounds interesting in their wares, but at the same time also perhaps strange as well.

Ayin Aleph are certainly bombastic, but lean more towards a heavy metal style than the power metal genre you might want to include them in. They incorporate keys and other instruments to spruce up their sounds and these things do a good job at heightening the listening experience appropriately. There is a lot of stuff going on in the music and this has the ability to cause an interesting reaction on the part of the person listening. “Sebastian’s Prayer” has a compelling build-up that is one of the better moments to be found here. The symphonic aspect of the work is a thing that holds it up slightly above what it would be otherwise. The biggest down point of the album is that is a little strange and this may turn some people off from enjoying Ayin Aleph 1 to its full potential.

However, the melding of many different sounds could also be seen as an interesting manner of doing things. Overall, Ayin Aleph have crafted a work that has a lot of different ingredients thrown together nicely and is worth checking out.
