The Righteous Dead is
Monsters first release and most everything about it is great. I have yet to find many flaws in it at all. I would say this album should be a definite listen for any deathcore/hardcore fans out there.
The vocals are mainly a powerful low growl and I did not really find much else to them. It is mostly the same technique of vocals throughout the whole album which is one of the few things that bothered me. If his lows weren't as good as they are it would be a problem, but he is one of the few vocalists that can pull off a mid/low throughout an entire album. A few highs every now and then would be nice but maybe he can't do them, or prefers not to.
My favorite track off of
The Righteous Dead is probably I,
Immortal. It is a pretty heavy song that could definitely get you moving at a show, The chorus is great and it is probably the heaviest on the album. The song
Ignite The Underground had a really cool intro, it started off saying HOLY SHITT and went into a low growl. The song went into a slow riff and sped up throughout the the song. There are a few breakdowns in this song but unlike most breakdowns, these actually have some creativity to them which is a big plus. The main thing that keeps all the songs good is the speed and how they all stay heavy. Even when a breakdown comes the song still has fast steady beat to it and helps the album flow together very well.
I really liked the guitarists because they had a ton of catchy riffs that really kept my ears listening. Some of the songs sound a little similar but that was not much of a problem. They all had a few parts you could remember the songs by that just helped the album a whole lot.
This is definitely one of my favorite hardcore records. If I see this for sale anywhere, I will for sure pick it up. I am going to rate this a 18/20.
