Heavy And Remorsless

This was the first album I heard from Aborted, and I fell in love instantly. This was also one of my first brutal death metal albums that wasn't a cannibal corpse album. But anyways, there's only one bad thing about this release and that's the shit it will get from lyrical context, but just the band name. But for those who don't understand, this isn't just hitting the drums hard, and screaming into a microphone. Because first of all, the vocals sound fucking killer, and the drums are so intense and impressive. He doesn't just blast through the entire album. He shows a lot of variety behind the kit for such a heavy band. The double kicks are ridiculously quick. He knows how to bang that's for sure (sorry I had to) but the guitar tone is just so heavy. Although there is a bit of chug chug breakdown sections in these songs, it isn't monotonous like say a Chelsea Grin album. They do it at the right times and it isn't every other part of the song structure. Although I love this album more for the riffs, the solos are pretty damn good too. Not the most mind blowing shredding of all time, but it fits into the songs like a glove. I have to give this album a 9.5/10 it is a must buy for some die hard fans of death metal (pun intended)
