Carnivore

Review @ winterdemon

A dream of a thrash album

Carnivore's first album is honestly a milestone in the history and it kicks ass. Carnivore is one of those bands who make real thrash from the east cost. The east coast sounds more like crossover and a little bit hardcore.

So the first song from Carnivore is 'Predator'. The Intro from 'Predator' is very cool beacuse it remind's me of the Vietnam war in the 6o's because you hear helicopters. 'Predator' is one of those songs that really thrash and it sounds like the old Metallica back in the early 80's. The lyrics are about the nuclear winter. And I really love the bass sounds from Peter Steele.

The second song on the album is my favorite this song has all what a real thrash song need 'Carnivore' is one of the best songs from this album. The lyrics are perverse and this Song is a real Carnivore classic song. When I first heard the drums, I thought what the hell is wrong with Louie Beateaux, his drumming is insane. This druming blows your head off.

The Last song on the album 'World Wars 3 and 4" sounds really like the third and the fourth world war. The guitar riffs in the song are strong and heavy with some little thrash like Exodus and I think Manowar are some of the mean influences from 'World Wars 3 and 4". This is one of those Songs about the end of the civilization and the other songs of the end of the civilization are 'Five Billion Dead' from the second album Retaliation and other one is 'Armageddon' our next song on the album. 'Armageddon' is a special song because it has a real awesome chorus and when I first heard the chorus of 'Armageddon' and then I thought that's cool and in the same afternoon I always heard the chorus of 'Armageddon' in my head and I sang the chorus over and over again.

The next song that really impressed me was #Thermonuclear Warrior'. The Song about the nuclear winter and the other stuff about that give you a kick in your nuts and that really hurts. I love this song so much because it is a real east coast thrash song and on the second album Retaliation do you see a Thermonuclear Warrior with some nuclear explosive devices but this is another album and another story in thrash metal.

And at last I say this album is a MUST-HAVE for everyone that wants to know more about the band from Peter Steele before Typ O Negative. Peter Steele is the man who is changed from the early 80's thrash to the most famous gothic-doom guy but his roots will never forget.
