Nope, I still Hate deathcore. Don't think it's gonna change.

Er...just because a lot of metal musicians like BMTH doesn't make it any more metal. And I'm not going to stop thinking a genre is "gay" (though I wouldn't use that term) just because they like it, either, because holy shit I actually listen to the fucking music myself and Decide whether I like it or not!!!!1!1!

Meh. I could spew more Venom, but it's not gonna change much. You're still going to cover your ears and shout the same strawmans you've been going on about the whole time. Plus, judging by the reactions, evidently everybody gets all freaked out when two people get in a disagreement. Meh, gotta get used to this place, I guess.

PS: Getting academic excellence is about as easy as winning a distance pissing contest. Seriously. It's really easy. If you honestly hold that as some sort of accomplishment you're only bullshitting yourself.

Okay Enigmatick, your opinion has been stated. No need to keep coming back here and regurgitating it.
Though I agree to the thing about other bands saying they like BMTH... it doesn't make a bit of difference to me wether or not Mikael Akerfeldt likes BMTH or not.

Pfft! you make me laugh. Big internet tough guy. Doesn't know shit from clay when it comes to metal, and already trying to tell me that getting all my academic accomplishments is bullshit. I'll tell you when I'm in Unversity getting my degree, then I'll be laughing like this 0.

Pissing contest, HAHAHA what kinds of person uses that term.

When someone thinks Deathcore isn't metal, now thats bullshiting yourself.

Changing the subject, since deathcore is apparently a very eclectic and creative genre, could any of you guys recommend me a few bands that "break the mould" so to say? I would love it if you guys proved me wrong about my whole deathcore-is-stagnant-and-boring shpiel.

I'm not very fond of deathcore, but bands that are close enough to it that even I enjoy would be Darkest Hour, Destriers Gait, Heaven Shall Burn or Vanguard (USA) (this one may be hard to find).

Darkest Hour is more of a straight-up melodic Death Metal band with -corish tinges, wouldn't consider them deathcore but they're good either way. Destriers Gait was Nothing new, and Heaven Shall Burn is kinda lame outside of their cover of Black Tears.

However, Vanguard was more of what I was looking for. Hot damn, it's like Abigail Williams without all the suck. Calling it deathcore is debatable, it's got more of a "symphonic blackcore" sound to me, if that makes any sense, but that was surprisingly good.
