THANK YOU
probably one of the first things I've actually agreed with you on

Also, I'm neither narrow-minded nor open-minded, because only the latter is a prevalent occurrence in music.

not true. i'm the kind of person that i can stand just about any kind of music. my library includes everything from classical, to NeverShoutNever!, to the most Extreme forms of metal known to man.

See, the reason I dislike open-minded people is because they feel they HAVE to listen to a wide variety of music for some arbitrary reason, so they don't like the music for the music itself, they like it because it's different. They don't listen to what truly gives them enjoyment, they just like listening to lots of different genres so they can stroke their e-dicks online saying so, and proclaiming their music taste is better. It's bullshit.

I'm not necessarily saying you're like that but you're definitely starting to give me that vibe.

PS: For the record, I don't listen to strictly metal.

I'm actually pretty open-minded when it comes to music.  That said, it's not for sake of vanity.  It's because I enjoy music in all of its forms, and I am always willing to broaden my horizons.

Think logically about that statement for a second Enigmatick.  No one is Born a metalhead (despite what any metalhead will tell you), or with any other musical preference for that matter, you acquire an appreciation for it after some exposure.  As I mentioned before, I didn't originally listen to metal, it's something I transitioned to.  So I could argue that based on that fact, it's not necessarily a bad thing IF you are doing it for the right reasons.  Or maybe I'm just one of the indecisive douchebages you've described.

Obviously, I do agree with you in the sense that there are some out there who simply listen to several styles to pad their ego, but these people are idiots.
This relates to what I said in an earlier post.  Just as there are shitty bands out there, there are shitty people out there; an unavoidable fact of life.  This is something you should be used to by now.  Pay them no mind, let them think they're better, and take Solace in the fact that they are so transparent.

I think it's important to be open-minded both musically, and in life, just not at the expense of being able to forumlate a concrete opinion.  I believe that this is what you are referring to, those who appear to like everything simply because they cannot differentiate between what they like and what they don't.  That said, this is relatively common.  There are lot of people out there who don't place any importance on being introspective.  They do not seek to understand themselves so that they can make better sense of the world around them.

In summary, I'm just going to leave this here...

in response to Enigmatick, i listen to whatever suits my ear. i could honestly care less about genres. music is music is music. it's a personal taste. if someone tells me about a band or group, no matter what it is i ALWAYS give it a chance and then i Decide if i like it or not. While my primary choice is metal ( no matter the type ) i don't mind listening to Eminem, or Snoop Dogg. I wouldn't say that i like every type of music, but i like a very wide multitude of music. And i don't like every song by my favorite groups. Just whatever is pleasing to my ears. so yeah... i hope that clears some stuff up.

Hey where's my name in that list? But you really made a strong statement there, and BlackHawk did that too.
