Hmmmm. ok if you don't understand that is fine. There is a HUGE difference between being a Thrash Metal band and being a Thrash Influenced Metalcore band. Like you said they stole a tonne of riffs from thrash metal. That does not make them 100% thrash. This just Means that they are INFLUENCED by thrash and this influence is evident in their music. I don't know how I can explain it better.
 
For example. If you compare bands such as For Today and Trivium it is OBVIOUS that they sound completly different. By a lot.

okay, let me make this clear for you, since you won't seem to get it any other way

Trivium DO NOT HAVE ANY THRASH IN THEIR SOUND.

AT ALL.

NONE.

if they were thrash influenced they would have SOME elements of thrash in their sound. They would still be considered Metalcore, but yeah, I guess you could say they have a faint thrash influence.

BUT THEY HAVE NONE.
