Are Trivium Thrash influenced, Hell fucking yeah.
Have you ever been to a Trivium gig? They play loads of Thrash anthems, from Metallica to Sepultura. They grew up listening to and wanting to be them bands.

GOD FUCKING DAMMIT does anybody ever actually listen to me? I don't care whether they like those bands or not, whether they cover those bands or not, even whether or not they WANT to sound like them, if NoNe of the influence comes out in their music (aside from the covers, they don't really count) then it doesn't make them any more gravitated towards that style. For example, Carpathian Forest covered the song "A Forest" by The Cure, that doesn't make them any more of a rockish-whatever the Hell genre The Cure is, i dunno, haven't heard much of their shit.

True. Rammstein's Till Lindemann grew up and was inspired by Kraftwerk, and electronic band, but he ended up fronting an Industrial Metal band with a few little influences from Kraftwerk that were non existant by their third album. I haven't heard Trivium, but I have heard they stole a ton of riffs from Thrash Metal giants... but even so, that doesn't automatically make them thrash.

Regarding Rammstein, I think they got influenced by Laibach (not a fan of them, though)... They have some similarities in style.
