You were copping out because you said Metalcore is too diverse to make a judgment, therefore protecting you from having to actually say anything. You were taking the easy way out, which is, in layman's terms, a cop-out.

Also, no they're not. Even if they are if has Zero effect on their sound (i.e. they don't sound thrashy at all) so there's no point in saying that.

On threads like this there are bound to be disagreements, usually between people who have different tastes in music (obviously). Especially with a sensitive topic like this one.

Are Trivium Thrash influenced, Hell fucking yeah.
Have you ever been to a Trivium gig? They play loads of Thrash anthems, from Metallica to Sepultura. They grew up listening to and wanting to be them bands.
