I've seen Arcturus yesterday in Brasov :D The result:

Got a photo with Hellhammer! And Vortex, too (next to whom I am a midget...)

Autographs from the band and some horrible concert pics (lighting was bad)

Gig was amazing, it was in a theatre and it sounded really good - never thought I'd say I think this band sounds much better live than on their albums. They played a lot of favorites The chaos path, Alone, ad Absurdum, Shipwrecked Frontier Pioneer, Master of disguise etc, and time went by so fast that at The End of it I felt as if the whole thing lasted 5 minutes... Definetely one of the best live bands I've Ever seen.

nice pics!

I knew Vortex was tall.... but this.... is pretty tall. I wonder how much taller he would be if he was next to me...

edit: according to a vague source is Vortex 6'7" tall which equals 2 meters. Okay, that's undoubtely tall!

Vortex would have flattened some people in his time. Being that big, he'd have to. Cool pics raina, personally i don't think id take a camera to a gig, unless it was a special one.

FUCK.
YOU MAKE ME SO JEALOUS, RAINA! I'VE ALWAYS Wanted TO MEET HELLHAMMER!!!

Okay, when you go to a concert, how is it you manage to meet so many of the bands so easily? When I go to any concert there're a lot of things set up to PREVENT people from flocking around band members unless the band I'm seeing is really small.

Speaking of which, there's a two-day metal festival comgin to my town! I'm so stunned and surprised by this--no one Ever usually comes here! The headlining band there is going to be Morbid ANGEL! Has anyone seen them live? Could they tell me what they thought of them if they have? What songs did they play, etc?
Anyway, there're going to be 16 bands total, besides Morbid Angel there will be Black Moor, Kataklysm and Blackguard. I forget all the rest ^^;

AND IRON MAIDEN. I think I've already mentioned I'm seeing them, though.

Meh, I expected them to play songs off the album, but from what I've seen they mostly still stick to Altars of Madness and Covenant songs. I don't mind playing to their schedule as long as they interract with the audience. Hm, I wonder what'd happen if I boo'ed them playing any Illud songs?

It all depends on how it is organized... the venue was a theatre in a city called Brasov, and not some huge festival Area,  so it was easier to wait for them to get out of the backstage, since there was no where out but by passing through the main hallway... The band came especially to Romania for the gig (= Transylvania, Carpathians, forests, Dracula etc...very kvlt to play there), it wasn t a part of a tour and there were no opening bands - everybody came exclusively for Arcturus. It was the same thing with Agalloch 2 years ago.

Somehow the organizers managed to convince them to come to an afterparty in a metal club there, where all people that attended the concert were invited (entrance was granted with the concert bracelet). So the whole band mingled with a Horde of fans, and took photos, autographed stuff etc.

So basically, organizers can make a big difference

@ryan - I have a laughing stock of a Canon A530, so it s just an old digital (5 mpx), Nothing fancy. I don t feel like I have to be too careful with it - if it breaks, it breaks, newer and better technology would replace it.

Either way, Raina, that sounds awesome. Perhaps the Morbid Angel concert I'm going to will be set up the same way!

check the venue, organisation etc and see... however I strongly doubt if MA will do something similar (the arrogance of trey and Vincent have been taken in account)

^ Maybe they will organize an Autograph signing session after the show, sometimes bands do that. If not, do the classic wait outside when the band leaves, there will surely be other people that do the same.
