I'm not a big BM fan, but that Jesus Tod song is in my top ten metal songs ever. It gives me goosebumps. It's bloody brilliant.

As for Mayhem , its not illegal is it ? I mean , it might have a Negative effect to some of their crowd

Call me crazy, but I doubt Mayhem's fanbase is all that "politically correct" and what have you.

Well, I don't think the audience would give a crap what Mayhem would do onstage, it's the authorities and the oh-so-demonizing press that the band members would worry about. Cutting up pig's heads onstage is pretty much fine and dandy, 'cause they get The Heads from slaughterhouses, so the pigs would have been killed anyway. But Dead used to take rusty nails and shards of glass and mutilate himself with them. I SAW in an interview a member of Darkthrone said he was at a Mayhem performance in 1990 and Dead lost too much Blood and fainted, so they had to pack up and leave. I think if Mayhem did that today they'd get in trouble.

...Then again, Maniac was probably too much of a wimp to do anything like that anyway.

I agree with you about those live gigs. Nowadays thee media are very Hypocrite about those live gigs. Pop stars are allowed to run nealry naked or with an entire dressroom on stage. They get praised into heaven. Meanwhile those same media make certain metal gigs ridiculous about the live acts, because they use (fake) Blood, cropse paint, ....
I've seen this last summer in a Belgium newspaper.

The last week of June: graspop metal meeting. First the newspaper laughs with the 'ridiculous' live ACT of Dark Funeral, Immortal and Bloodbath. A few pages later they say that the extravagant show of Lady Gaga was sooooo great. wtf is this?

btw: Maniac was indeed one of the worst addition to Mayhem

It's marketability. A band called Bloodbath isn't marketable. However, sexually lewd performances (especially the ones that involve women) are easily marketable. Blood and scary stuff like that... it's meant to be jarring and it's meant to intimidate general society.

and this probably why many metal-haters think that Metal is crude and just un-natural.

0 Funny, I've never heard anyone call metal those things...
But yeah, I see what you mean.
But hey, the bands know to just take that sort of stuff in stride.

Yeah, ok Bloodbath isn't marketable but I forget to say that that newspaper profiles itself as "metalminded". But in fact they are everything except that. Change of newspaper after that

Would you rather everyone like metal and have it be as popular as Lady Gaga? I sure as Hell wouldn't.
