When a band has a name like
Gorezone, they're almost legally entitled to be brutal and grind influenced, and
Gorezone's new album
Brutalities of Modern Domination is exactly that, every track on the album is pummeling, and brutal, with bits of Technical Death
Metal thrown in just for the hell of it.
Gorezone is signed to the Spanish record label Xtreem Music, which boasts a large number of Thrash, and Death metal bands; many of which i've been infatuated with recently after discovering a compilation from the record label called Xtreem
Mutilation. This is their first album to be released by Xtreem Music, and the sound quality is amazing, it sounds like the record label really has a good studio. i can hear everything that needs to be heard on the album, there's no un-needed distortion on anything in the tracks at all.
The new album is as brutal as their band name implies, if the first track "knee Deep in body bags" doesn't draw your attention in by just the name itself, then the awesome Grinding riff about halfway through the song should,"Control Us" is more Grind influenced than the first track, and still a great song, most of the songs are a toss up between
Brutal Death/Grind and Technical Death
Metal, and the sound reminds me of a mixture of
Devourment and
Origin combined(in fact, the album cover reminds me alot of
Devourment's album cover for "Unleash the
Carnivore). the 3rd song "Consuming the Weak" is a bit slower than the previous 2 tracks which has a pretty long breakdown halfway through the song (though there are several breakdowns in this album, there's no
Deathcore influence in any of the tracks, no stupid
Inhale vocals or anything dumb like that, so true death metal fans need not worry about the "integrity" of this band). "Driven by Cells of bigotry" has a way more technical death sound to it, and the next track "The Waterboarding Complex" incorporates more Grind and Technical Death than most of the other tracks. "
Mass Murder By one form" is just fast and
Brutal, and one of my favorites on the entire album, along with the title track, and the 7 minute long ending song "Period of Consequences".
After listening to the whole album several times over and over now, i can safely say that
Gorezone's "
Brutalities of Modern Domination" is a fresh breath of Foul air in the
Brutal Death
Metal scene
