I brought this album in Oslo,
Norway some days ago. This was the only nsbm album the store had, so I took the chance. The album was tagged “raw Hellenic ns black metal” in the shop, and that couldn’t be more right. The first track “
Pilgrimage” starts with a weird intro before it kicks into mid-tempo black metal. Even tough the music isn’t very original,
The Shadow Order manages to create true rawness and the vocals are very fit to the music. The riffs trough the whole album is simple, but effective. It also sounds like the trio has listened to
Burzum, the riffs on the track “The Harvest of Deceit” sound very much like mid-era
Burzum.
The drumming fits the album perfectly with both mid-tempo and black metal blast beats. Some of the songs on
Untold are also very catchy (listen to “Hammering Judea” and “Totenkampf”).
The album artwork is great, and inside the booklet you can find a picture of the band and the lyrics are printed in Greek.
-Raw catchy Hellenic nsbm at it’s best! 7,5/10
