>Hi ! Please can you tell us where/when & why you created Legion of the Damned ? Being composed by ex-Occult members, why did you change the band name ? Even with a different singer, many bands would have kept the same name, capitalizing on its history & success through the scene.Right, well for us it was the opposite, while in order to create a better succes we had to change the name, it was also personally, to much shit going on in the past that we would like to have behind us.
>Lets talk about Malevolent Rapture. How have been the feedback concerning this first album ? Have you been satisfied with all the promotion that followed ?
Absolute 100% satisfied with both the album and the promotion, turned out killer!
>You play old-school thrash-metal heavily influenced by german cult bands like Destruction, Kreator etc. But you also add something fresh & modern that i cant define. How would you talk about the music you play ?
Its old school thrash-metal with a modern sound and played very tight!
>Now your second album is released, titled 'Sons of the Jackal' on Massacre records. Its very very similar to 'Malevolent '. Being one of its creators, where do you find differences between these 2 albums ? Maybe you simply dont care about evolution ?
Fuck evolution ;-) Our music is straight forward and kills! I think the main differences are produtionwise and also the songs are abit more diverse, but its straight forward, set your mind to zero and bang your head, why should be throw something in it to make it different? We just play what we like t
o play!>What is the meaning of such a title ? Whos this Jackal ? & its sons ?
The sons are all the other titles : Diabolist, the devil worshipper, the guy in Atomicide, the suicide commando, undeadstillborn, the guy commiting suicide, all these figures are the sons of the jackal
>Lets talk about your lyrics. What do your texts deal with ? Who does write them ? Where does he take its inspiration ?
Tony Manero writes them, here are some explanations Son of the Jackal : The son of the jackal is the lycanthropic antichrist, the archfiend in the flesh, the true current of liberation. Forever live in sin! Undead Stillborn : Trapped in this living human shell without ever having born the spirit of life. Negation of existence, sucked into the vortex of the void. The call of nothingness in a life without sense. Avenging Archangel : The iron legion was an apocalyptic order in league with archangel Michael. Their violent creed was slain with an iron fist, the nocturnal executions the legion envisioned came down upon themselves. Death is my master (Slay for Kali) : The reincarnation of the Kali death cult. The blade of the new thugs slays for the goddess of death. Sepulchral Ghoul : Tale of grave desecration, smashed tombstones, transgressing the normal out of love for the dead. Diabolist : The diabolist is the servant of what is perceived as the evil one. The amoral current in nature vital and invincible. The cult>About composition process : how do you compose inside the band ? Is it a common process ? Is LOTD a democratic band ?
We always compose together, there is never someone writing at home. All the songs are created by jamming and everybody has his own opinion and thoughts in this wether he's a drummer or singer!

>You already begin to play your new songs live. You play for instance with Sodom in Belgium (Hofterlo, Antwerpen) at the end of december. How have your new songs been received by the crowd ?
Very good! The songs stick to everybody's head and they are easy to follow so easy to pick up!
>Was it a cool experience to play with the godfather of thrash Sodom ? Any funny anecdote to tell us ?
Poeh....it was amazing! I mean I grew up with Sodom/Kreator/Destruction, so playing with Sodom was very very cool, now doing the Kreator tour soon, so what else can be wanting ;-)
