Death Wolf (en)

downfall to music. Formed in the year 2000 under the monicker Devils Whorehouse by Morgan from Marduk, and after releasing the highly acclaimed albums "Revelation Unorthodox" and "Blood & Ashes" as well as the eps, "Howling" & "Werewolf", the band fell its time to change name as the music and philosophy behind the orchestra has outgrown its name. The end of one world and the birth of another. The band now continues under the name Death Wolf symbolising the strength, dedication and will shown in its creations. The band just finished the recording of its upcoming album filled with Northern end themes and death hymns. Cold steel over the worlds throat.

interview Death WolfKate: Hailz Morgan just wanted to say thank you for doing this interview for Spirit of Metal Webzine!
Morgan: Thank you. It’s my pleasure to be doing this interview.

Kate: How would you describe the transformation from the Devils Whorehouse to Death Wolf?
Morgan: It’s a happening that just came natural during the process of the recording of the album. We just came to a point when the upcoming album title became the band name. We all feel the name better represents the power and vision of our music and lyrics. So we just shaepshifted and became Death Wolf and began the new lycanthropic march...

Kate: How has the feedback been for the new album?
Morgan: So far most of the reviews coming in have been amazing. Of course some other as well. But the majority of the media that have heard the album so far has showed great appreciation.

Kate: How would you describe the album to people who haven’t heard it yet?
Morgan: Power, darkness and aggression. For the one who wants to be entering the circle of death wolf samples are available on our internet channels. www.deathwolf.net and follow the link to our facebook site.

Kate: I hear some Misfits/Danzig in
interview Death Wolffluence album, is that one of you influences musically?
Morgan: Yes the works of Danzig through his whole career has of course been a great inspiration. One of the few great personalities and musicians out there. But we are inspired by far more things than that. For example the upcoming album is inspired by the end theme of the northern mythology and hymns of the upcoming end.

Kate: Do you have any other projects going on or are Death Wolf and Marduk your main focus?
Morgan: Yes those are the two bands I spend my time on and focus my energy on. I think working on that is fine enough. I also run the label BloodDawn productions which takes a lot of my time. I enjoy keeping myself occupied unleashing darkness in different forms...

Kate: Who have been some of your influences musically over the years?
Morgan: So much music has inspired me so it’s hard to mention any specific. But these days I have come to a time when other music doesn’t inspire me anymore. my visions these days comes from reading, my own subconscious and just letting the energy float and become the vehicle transforming the vision into music.

Kate: How would you describe the metal scene today? Not just black metal but overall, what are your feelings on it?
Morgan:
interview Death WolfDon’t really care. I like a handful of new bands. Don’t necessary has to feel being a part of any scene or whatever. We do what we do. And that is what matters to us. These days most people seems to sit on the internet gossiping about what the fuck musicians eat or whatever on blabbermouth etc. people should get a life.

Kate: What are some plans for Death Wolf? Are you touring right now?
Morgan: We are currently booking selected shows and might go out on the roads later on, as long as we can find the time. As all members do very different things and are occupied some time for long periods with all kind of stuff. But sooner or later we will for sure be marching across the world... Apart from that our album will be coming out within like 2 weeks and we are already sorting ideas for the next album. So there is more to come.

Kate: What are your hopes for Death Wolf in the future?
Morgan: Don’t have any hopes. We do what we do and we shall see where it takes us.

Kate: Any words for your fans?
Morgan: Check the album out and await our march across the world...

Kate: Thank you again Morgan, all of us at Spirit of Metal Webzine really appreciates it!
Thank you Kate. It was my pleasure.
