Zahrim was started just after Jens (drums) left his former band In Vain, a melodic death metal band also from Falkenberg. Zahrim was then started by Carl (guitars) and Jens. It was in sept. - okt. ´97.

After they put their first song together (Grey Shapes) they asked Kristian (vocals) to join the band and he listened to the song and shortly after he was too a member. After two more weeks when a second song was made Andreas (bass) joined. After another 3 weeks the band made their first gig, in Kungsbacka, Sweden, With 4 songs, the sounds of total destruction and black metal was blown out of the marshall amplifiers- Zahrim was easily the fastest band around (though not the tightest at that time). After only 2,5 months of playing Zahrim recorded their first demo, "Within the Grey Shades", It was released in early ´98. As time went on Zahrim began to find their special sound... Melodic Death/Black Metal with influenses from heavy- and thrash metal. The sound was no longer pure Black Metal. In mid ´98 a second guitarist was joining the band, Henrik.

After almost a year Henrik was replaced with Kristian Svensson. And with the new guitarist a couple of songs were recorded in the rehearsal room. VOD -records was contacted and a compilation CD is now in the works. ZAHRIM will enter Studio Lynga to record the song "Birth Of Zahrim" and the demo "Enfold the Light´s Demise". The planned release date of the Comp. CD is in October ´99.
