Formed in 2007 by guitarist Billy Serocki, bassist Eric Fordney, vocalist Ali Dika, and drummer Justin Vaughn, Portland, Oregon-based Von Doom sought to make waves in the Metal scene with their brand of furious, fast-paced melodic Metal. After the release of their first EP, “Second Sight” (currently unavailable), and a few changes in personel, Von Doom revisited their first release, remixing original tracks and introducing vocalist Jason Hooker, bringing about the aptly-titled “Second Sight Revisited” digital EP.

Seeking to surpass their previous musical endevours, Von Doom entered Portland’s BAMF Studios in October 2010 to begin the recording of what would become their most ambitious effort yet : “Under The Ashen Empire”.

In an attempt to keep their fans in the loop and involved during the recording process of the new demo, Von Doom documented the recording process by filming each day of recording and sharing it online, a gesture rarely seen among most independent artists. This was met with great entusiasm by fans, which only helped increase the level of anticipation for what would be a true turning point for Von Doom.

Shortly after the recording of "Under The Ashen Empire", Von Doom was joined by Reuben Valdez (ex-From Ashes/Dissension) who filled the second guitar position in the band, bringing a new and exciting energy to the band.

With ferocious drumming, crunching bass, searing riffs, and intense vocals, Von Doom’s latest effort showcases that after four years as a band, there is no sign of slowing down. “Under The Ashen Empire” features elements that will be sure to please even the most discerning fans of Metal.
