Soomdrag was formed on October 31, 1997; the original line up was: Gema Sibrian on Guitars, Iosif Najarro on Drums and Vocals, and Cesar “Camilo” Baños on Bass.

The band work and struggled for two years until in 1999 they released their first album entitled “Through the Castle of Shadows”, a self production which shortly put them amongst the top bands of the Salvadorian metal scene.
A couple of years later the band faced some problems between Cesar Baños and Gema Sibrian, those problems lead them to split the band.

Soomdrag was out of the scene for some time until Cesar Baños decided to rejoin the band whit new members and continue whit his passion: playing bass.
Soomdrag have had many changes on its line up, it is not until the late days of August 2007 that Cesar found the new vocal (Zero) and a new guitar player (Frank Ganuza “Holy”), and on April 2008 drummer David Barraza joined the band on their current line up.

The band is currently working on their new album (composing and rehearsal); as well doing some gigs.

Soomdrag is specting to release their new album on December 2008, new songs are ready to go but it is the financial subject what is keeping the band on a slow process.
