Reincarnatus is a band of 7 professional female musicians who started as a group which performed the Medieval music in a traditional way. In the meantime came the idea of combining these historic musical instruments (like hurdy-gurdy, bagpipes, shawms, recorders, key-fiddle, bouzouki, fiddle) with modern influences.

It’s great to see and hear how the Medieval sound mixes with instruments like: bass, electric guitars, samples and drums. The sound completes with the powerful voices of all members who sing in (Medieval) English, Latin and Medieval French.

The debut cd of Reincarnatus contains 6 tracks which are all self written (except Omnia). The result is a kind of music which we like to describe as Medieval Pop Music. Reincarnatus performs at theatres and festivals in The Netherlands, Germany, Austria and Belgium. Occasionally, when requested, a set of Medieval, acoustic music is offered.

In October 2007 the band recorded their first full album together with the famous Dutch producer Haro Slok. 'Media Vita' was released on the 2nd of May 2008 with their own label. Soon Media Vita reached the Dutch Album Top 100 charts and became one of the best selling CD's at www.bol.com

Since January 2008 two new musicians joined Reincarnatus: Hellen (bass) and Eleen (e.guitars). In 2009 the band signed a record deal with German record company F.A.M.E. Recordings, and soon after that they toured through Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
