I founded ODAL in the middle of 1999, originally as a side-project of my band at that timne ASKE, for which I was active as the vocalist. We recorded 2 demos and a Split EP with ASKE. The idea for the formation of ODAL was to express own ideas. Loki was soon found as a suitable drummer and we started to work out my ideas. When it came to trouble within ASKE, I left that band in late 2000. ASKE has by now completely disbanded. Loki and I began to work more on the material of ODAL and recorded the first demo Germansk early 2001. Later in 2001 the recordings for 2 7” EPs followed of which one was released on Christhunt Productions and one on Sombre Records. In July 2001 it was the time, and we recorded the first ODAL album “Sturmes Brut”, which was released late 2002 after long delays. In 2002 Loki left ODAL for personal reasons. Berserker, that helped us out live as a session musocoan, was no longer needed and went his own way. After not such a long search I was able to find a new drummer in C.K., who has taken the name Groll. The reason for that was abitheer musician from a Thüringer Band that also usees C.K.. ODAL now is Groll “C.K.”- drums and me, Taaken- all guitars, vocals, bass. The music and lyrics are all my work, and when it comes to composing it will always stay like that in ODAL. Lyric-wise some lyrics from Groll can also be expected in the future.
