The Obsidian Kingdom is an exclusive society that meets periodically in order to discuss on how to take over the world through the purest form of magic: MUSIC.

The band is born under the influence of new millennium’s eve with the intention of channelling some of its member’s most unspeakable emotions. After years of technical and conceptual depuration, the band’s musical identity begins to consolidate as a very personal approach to post-black metal.

The birth of Matter (2007), the band’s presentation card, reveals the tremendous potential of the project: interviews and praiseworthy reviews in the main international specialised media (Legacy, Metal Hammer, Rock Hard), participation in renowned festivals along with frontline metal acts (Destruction, Amon Amarth, Angelus Apatrida) and the opportunity to support Brazilian death metal act NervoChaos during their European Tour.

Evolution carries on while the band composes new material and explores new sonic frontiers; this musical reinvention takes its toll on the line-up, which suffers a severe collapse when most of the members decide to leave the band, coinciding with the recording of their latest EP, 3:11 (2010). Thus, new horizons and possibilities unfold when the band welcomes three new members through which the full circle is again achieved.

The process of re-foundation gives birth to Obsidian Kingdom’s new iteration: same roots with a greater urge towards musical experimentation. The band is right now immersed in the promotion of 3:11 while composing a new observation that will sure grasp the attention of both consolidated audience and those who stumble on them for the first time.
