Биография : Nokturnal Mortum

In late december 1991 a death metal band called Suppuration was formed in the Ukraine by Knjaz Varggoth, Munruthel and Xaarquath. They recorded "Ecclesiastical Blasphemy" which was released in 1992 and sold 1500 copies, distributed through Shiver Records in Belgium. As Sataroth joined the band in 1992 they recorded "Unspeakable Journey Into Subconscious World" in 1993. In April of 1993 the guitarist Wortherax joined the band and in May they reocrded a demo called "Cosmic Flight Around Astralspher" which was meant to be released as a 7" EP on The Final Holocaust Records (the Peaceville branch in Russia). The label did however go bankrupt and Suppuration died in the summer of 1993.
In the autumn of 1993 a new black metal band was formed under the name Crystaline Darkness by Knjaz Varggoth (vocals, guitars), Karpath (guitars) and Munruthel (drums). They recorded a demo called "Mi Agama Khaz Mifisto" and negotiated with the Czech label View Beyond Records for a record deal.

In 1994 former Suppuration members joined forces once again and recorded the demo "Twilightfall" under the moniker Nocturnal Mortum. As the resulting sound was black metal they changed the name into Nokturnal Mortum with a "k". At the end of 1994 through the beginning of 1995 they recorded the legendary "Lunar Poetry" demo which was released as an MC in the spring of 1996 by MetalAgen Records. Shortly after the release Wortherax left the band and was replaced by Karpath. A second keyboard player called Saturious also joined.

In the summer of 1996 they recorded their second album called "Goat Horns" which was released in spring 1997 by MetalAgen. In december of 1996 they recorded an EP called "Return Of The Vampire Lord" which included one new song and two Crystaline Darkness songs. This EP was supposed to have been released by MetalAgen Records as a split MC with Lucifugum (Ukraine) but because of the label's policy they cancelled their relations with MetalAgen.

In 1997 Nokturnal Mortum recorded a new album called "To the Gates of Blasphemous Fire" as well as an EP called "Marble Moon" that included a Ukrainian folk song named "Lastivka". About this time they also signed a record deal with the American label The End Records. They released "Goat Horns" on cd on March 31st, 1998, and "To the Gates of Blasphemous Fire" on March 1st, 1999.

In 2001 or early 2002 The End Records decided to drop Nokturnal Mortum because of their nazi-socialist flirtations.
