Forming in 1993 and having roots in both eastern and western Pennsylvania, No Retreat have managed to create an underground following by playing and touring with many larger underground hardcore bands such as Earth Crisis, Blood For Blood, Shutdown, 25 Ta Life, All Out War, Fury Of Five, Mushmouth, Pitboss 2000, Krutch and many, many more. Their down tuned, death stomping hardcore sound is very reminiscent of bands like Hatebreed, Buried Alive and All Out War.

Rise Of The Underdog was produced by Eric Klinger of Pro-Pain fame. The record contains guest vocal appearances by Chris Hensel from Mushmouth and Karl Weinbrecht from Krutch. No Retreat also toured the North East and Canada with Mushmouth in the summer of 1999. The band also has put out a split CD with the legendary Krutch on Thornz Records. Rise Of The Underdog, the band’s first full length record, sold out of its first pressing in just three months and has been a legendary Pittsburgh Hardcore disc ever since.

After defining themselves as The Pittsburgh Hardcore band, most of the members of No Retreat have moved to new locations and onto new stages in their lives. However, the band came together to put out the long-awaited full length, Pray For Peace. Including guest vocals by Mad Jo Black among others, this new CD has taken influence from bands like Krutch, Fury Of Five, and Boxcutter. Everyone in the Pittsburgh, if not PA, is desperately awaiting another show from this legendary Steel City Hardcore band.
