A band with a short-lived history, loads of talent and a raw metal spirit. It is sure to be an adequate description for the band called MYTHIKA, despite their little time on the “scene”, altogether they reunite all the elements that makes them an outstanding element in the crowded trenches of the Paraguayan underground scene.Lead by Julio Franco in vocals, this band was formed towards the end of 2006. That same year, Roberto Cáceres joins the line-up in keyboards. After piecing together a few songs, they decide to record a demo at Cáceres own home studio. The Result: A PRAYER OF BITTERNESS, containing an intro and four great and varied songs. Amongst which the work of “LA AMARGA PLEGARIA” stands out, a classic ode of melodic metal, based on the writings of the poet Manuel Ortiz Guerrero, illustrious figure of the Paraguayan Literature.The band undergoes some changes in the line-up at the end of ‘08, after being the opening show for the GREAT Paul Dianno, Iron Maiden’s first vocalist, in front of 5000 metal souls. This band is certainly faithful to the ways of melodic metal, but with more powerful guitars and roaring vocals, thunderous drums and awesome baselines this ensemble delivers a complete and unprecedented energy to the Paraguayan metal landscape.MYTHIKA is working on what would be their first album, written in a conceptual form, and based in the condemned native cultures of Latin America, and the colonisation times of the “New World”.
