MORTUARY – place where abandon deceased for farewell before the funeral.

The name of band fully represents its creation. A lyric in songs describes a world not physical, and that which we see only then, when our physical body not subject to us. Death is not sole such state. Sleep, trance, meditation, schizophrenia... – here when we are there. Such theme for creation was chosen not simply so. A lot of nations in the culture tried to describe the unphysical life. In the process of writing of lyric the author of texts Andrey Savchuk leans against the fantasy not only. Tedious work above the study of after-life are based on texts, as it was described by eastern, western and Slavonic cultures.

MORTUARY, as a valuable band appeared on August 27, 1996 with arrival in the band of the vocalist Vitaly Savchuk.

The first test on public passed in the concert hall of general school on the Khmelnitsky December 20 1996, whereupon band of beginning to take active part in the “underground” life of city. Through a year MORTUARY was known in Khmelnitsky not only, and after his border.
Since a 1998 year a band made decision independently to begin organization of the concerts under the name EXTREME VISION. It gave a positive result. Thanks to actions EXTREME VISION of Khmelnitsky was visited by a lot of authoritative death-, black-, progressive-metal, … , bands. Exactly at this time another guitarist Vlad Zbarashenko joins a band. By estimation of other extreme bands, MORTUARY with appearance of another guitarist considerably grew heavy and “grew” black.

On May, 23 1999 the last concert of the MORTUARY. On to the reasons with the personal problems of each of musicians a band halted the existence. But on January, 16, 2003 (birthday the Vitaly Savchuk) after the glass of “honey with a pepper” it is decided to test the skeleton of the MORTUARY (Andrey Savchuk and Vіtaliy Savchuk) band in the order of itself valid for one occasion on a concert which was going to organize the band CATAFALQUE in Khmelnitsky. For realization of the given purpose as session musicians suggested to play to Igor Kulchitsky (guitar – CATAFALQUE) that to Artem Bodnar (drums – CATAFALQUE). In the process of rehearsals in communication to those, that on the personal reasons not all musicians of the band CATAFALQUE were able to take part in a creative process, the CATAFALQUE – MORTUARY project in composition appeared:

A project carried out the joint program which included the songs of both bands.
Unexpectedly on your own the CATAFALQUE – MORTUARY project was invited on TERRORISER fest (Vinnitsa) within the framework of presentation of album of the Vinnitsa band REACTOR. In this connection a spring session in Khmelnitsky was abolished. After appearance in Vinnitsa seeing the reaction of public and musical critic, Vitaly Savchuk that Andrey Savchuk decide to recover the MORTUARY. On suggestion to be by the permanent musician of band Artem Bodnar answers positively (drums). After the long listening of candidates in guitarists of band the young and perspective musician Max Prokopchuk was chosen. In December, 2005 to group one more guitarist - Nikolay Palyga has joined.

In summer of 2005 a material for the first album of group named The Diary of a Victim had been wrote. At present it prepares for release. Now band prepeare a material for the next album In A Dreams.

Alongside with musical activity the band has created Mortuary Art agency which is engaged in the organization concerts of extreme rock musics concerts EXTREME VISION, also is the founder of festival EXTREME VISION Open Air in an ancient fortress in a small town Medzhybizh Khmelnitskiy area.
