Founded by Surtalog in 2002 as a logical progression of his earlier projects with the aim of creating raw, original Black Metal. After a collaboration with Polish war machine BLIZKRIG, MENSCHENTOD disappeared.
With Snaer joining in late 2003, the band's attitude changed towards a nihilistic, death-embracing concept. Yet, the radically primitive approach to music remained. Each recording represents the essence of a carefully chosen moment. Practicing passages in order to satisfy common music preferences is not part of MENSCHENTOD's understanding of raw, emotional music. Songs about human failure can and must not be polished.
A planned gig with SHINING failed due to their cancelled tour. Again, MENSCHENTOD disappeared, only to reek its ugly head in the form of the 2006 debut CD "Die For The Cult".
In 2008, this debut was republished as a self-distributed professionally pressed CD and given to selected mailorders.
