Биография : Juggermath

Juggermath was conceived in 1999 as a four piece by Demir (guitars), Ozan (bass), James (vocals) and Selen (percussion) under the alternate name Splaatagorphus. Essentially a grindcore outfit, it combined elements of black, death and a bit of stoner thrown in for good measure. A demo was recorded in 2000 but after a first show, it was decided it would not be released. Soon after, the original vocalist James parted company with the camp and Splaatagorphus was killed. From its festering corpse, a new entity was borne and in 2002 Juggermath became. With new vocalist, Ben (formerly of Obsidian) it was decided that this time the music would be faster, obscurer, heavier and more melodic - in a word, extreme brutalness. The music and lyrics became darker and more intricate, the sound became cataclysmic and the whole band evolved musically. With most songs over six minutes, it also started taking on epic qualities. A few shows followed to good responses, but the music was beyond some – it was starting to border on being too fast and chaotic for most to follow.

September 2003, the band was approached by another Adelaideian extreme nausea outfit, Dephiler, to record a split demo. Recorded at the home studio Ungol, it took most of the winter to record. This gave both bands a chance to show their music for what it really was, and could allow listeners to actually comprehend what was being played. Just as it was finished however Dephiler lost their drummer, essentially canning the project and leaving guitarist Nick Seja without a band. Since he had worked so closely with Juggermath over the previous three months, it seemed logical for him to be recruit as a second guitarist.

January 2004, our first show in this guise received much better response. With the combined aural assault of twin axes, the sound has not compromised brutality for comprehension and is as fast now, if not faster than ever before. The first demo, the salvaged half of the split ‘In Onslaught Divina' was released (or thrown out) and has been snapped up quickly. Featuring 4 tracks and running at over twenty minutes, it includes some older songs as well as the title track, a nine minute opus giving a good indication of future directions. With the recent line-up addition, the sound has evolved again; more arcane, technical and majestic, it is now entering the cosmos, deep earth and desert sands. Work will begin mid 2004 on a full length release.
