Биография : Imindain

Imindain were formed in late 2002, by members of the Stoke-on-Trent based Dark Electronic Metal band Killing Mercy. They had been plagued by various problems since their beginning, and became tired of their electronic sound so they eventually decided to disband. Killing Mercy vocalist Lee Bullock, and guitarists Rick Farn and Chicken, decided to form a band that would combine doom, with death and black metal influences. They decided on the name Imindain, which was an idea Chicken had had for quite some years, but had never found the band that would suit the name... until now.

Having all the right ideas, and musical ability Lee, Chicken and Rick now needed a bass player, and a drummer. They all asked Dan Lowndes, the guitarist from Disembowelled, an old school death metal band that Chicken used to play in. They found the bassist they needed in Dan, who is an enthusiastic follower of all the genres Imindain wanted to mix. After practicing together for some weeks, without a drummer, Imindain toyed with the idea of using a drum machine. The drum machine was however decided a bad idea as the band members wanted to escape the Killing Mercy sound and all the preconceptions that went with it, this meant that they would have to get a real drummer.

Eventually Disembowelled broke up, and the members went on to form different bands. The split freed up Matt - Disembowelled"s drummer, who not only was a man with good tastes in music (most of the time) but was also a big follower of Killing Mercy. Before long Matt was roped into Imindain to finally complete the line-up after months of searching for suitable members... unfortunately after a few weeks disaster struck, and it was decided that Matt wasn"t right for Imindain"s line-up as he couldn"t fit in the band due to his job and other dedications. Soon Rick felt his original instrument calling him back and changed to bass, and Dan took up the role of guitarist. Fortunately Chicken"s boyfriend Kev Brady decided he would leave his seat in front of the computer for a while, and replace it with a drum stool. Kev having left Stoke death metal band Headpress a year previously to peruse a career in computers took well to returning to the drum stool, and his drumming style fitted perfectly to help create Imindain"s original sound. Now all is well in the line-up at the moment, and the band are currently working hard to play as many gigs as they possibly can, as well as rehersing and writing for the forthcoming demo...
