Yogyakarta, Indonesia, 1998. Destruct was formed by 4 kids from the ashes of our previous bands. After almost 4 years, several line-up changes, and recorded few singles under the name "Destruct", we finally decided to change our name into Hands Upon Salvation. Hardcore and metal probably are 2 of the big parts in our life. The spirits, the passions, the traditions behind it always making us alive, Independent, and playing such energetic chords of the movements, trying to think with different perspectives about what's going on inside our heads and our hearts and making friends and communicate with friends in everywhere we could, all are the best part to be in this band. Creating the best mixture and blending hardcore energy and passions with metallic intensity and aggressions are the main reasons of why we are still here. Lyrically we deals with few themes about our hope towards justice, equality, humanity, earth, nature, other species, and also about pain, desperation, love, and any themes we want to talk about. All written with personal feelings, personal point of views, added with some dark elements. By 2003, we recorded our very first demo, and later this demo was released as our first album in 2004 by Diorama Records [Indonesia]. Consist of 5 songs of hardcore/metal elements, the album called "Celebrate The Newborn".
By 2005, this album was released by Paranoid Records [Malaysia]. In 2006, Diorama Records released our first split project; 4-way split entitled "A Simple Journey" with 4 other Indonesian bands: Breath of Despair, Moment of Pain, and Disagree. Later on Retribution Network [Japan] decided to re-released "Celebrate The Newborn" in 2007. And the next project was Diorama Records [Indonesia] and Retribution Network [Japan] released our first international split project, 4 way split "The Burden Reflects" with both 2 bands from Indonesia : Hands Upon Salvation, Nothing, and 2 more bands from Japan : Canopus, Gate Of Hopeless. This project released in 2007 by Diorama Records [Indonesia] and then 2008 by Retribution Network [Japan].
By 2010, Birthdie Records [Indonesia] put out another re-release of "Celebrate The Newborn" [Repackaged] with 2 new songs bonuses, a music videos, and also a live documentary performances. During 2004 until now we're also participating in some compilations projects, released by few of our dearest friends. Some memorable compilations are: VA "Crushing The Boundaries" by Undying Music [Indonesia, 2004], VA "War Must Be Declared Pt II" from Retribution Network [Japan, 2006], VA "Eastside Metal DVD' video compilations by Eastside Records [Indonesia, 2009], and VA "Indonesian Hardcore Punk Attaakk!!" from One Voice Asia Records [Singapore, 2010]. Playing live always been wonderful things for us, from small studio-gigs to bigger stages, meeting new friends and sharing performances with great bands from everywhere, Surrender [Australia], Shai Hulud [America], and Heaven Shall Burn [Germany] are just few names of all bands we have shared stages with. By 2011, we're entered studio again. We're recorded 10 songs for our new album. "Entity" would be the titles we used for the album. By 2012, we're signed by Hellavila Records [Indonesia] to release "Entity"
