Eye Of judgement was founded in 2004 with the sole purpose of bringing the ethics and political and social engagement back into hardcore music. Based in the western part of the Netherlands the band set out to play shows in 2005 when they released their demotape called The War Has Begun. This demo was very well recieved and led to a record deal with California based New Eden Records. They released the now also almost sold out remastered 7"version of the demotape in November 2005, to be followed in 2006 by their debut album The New Crusade.
After the release of The New Crusade they did a very succesful two week tour of the US west coast with 7 Generations and Time For Change. This tour was followed by a tour in the UK (2006), Italy (2007) and Central Europe (2008).
Eye Of Judgement has appeared on a number of compilation cds, including a benefit sampler for imprisoned animal rights activists and a Tribute to Integrity. In 2007 they released a CDR contaning a number of leftovers from previous recording sessions before returning to the studio to record their yet untitled upcoming full length record.
Right now Eye Of Judgement is preparing to go on a European tour with their friends in Birds Of A Feather before releasing their new album through Catalyst Records this summer, to be followed by a three week euro- tour with In The Face Of War.

Eye Of Judgement adheres to a vegan straight edge philosophy, which means the total abstinence from intoxicating substances such as drugs and alcohol and a commitment to cruelty free living by not using any animal products. These include meat in any form, dairy products, eggs, wool and honey. Animal rights and environmental protection are the most important reasons for choosing this lifestyle despite the obvious difficlties one faces when living a lifestyle that is so different from the mainstream.
Musical style

When they started out Eye Of Judgement's style was mostly influenced by true hardcore bands such as Judge and The Path Of Resistance, but also by the more metallic approach of bands such as Earth Crisis and Integrity. Over time the ballance shifted more and more to the metallic side of hardcore, think of bands such as All Out War and Length Of Time, and on The New Crusade this more metallic approach is very clear. Precise riffing combined with pounding drums and blistering solos now dominate their style. Because of years of previous experience in bands such as Darkdayrising (death metal), A Step Apart (youthcrew) and Insult (grindcore) this shift was easily made.
The newly recorded material has even more metallic influences from bands such as Crowbar, Decapitated and Anaal Nathrakh.
Expect Total Annihilation.
