DOWN TO REST is a Original Metal Band that was born from a combination of 3 different / very popular longtime Chicago Area Bands.

Formed in the Midway Airport Area on the Southwest Side of Chicago, IL USA in August of 2008, Brian Corbin (Lead Vocals), Dr. Loe Farias (Guitar/Vocals), and Lee Herrera (Drums) immediately started writing material & rehearsed daily. It wasn't until the later part of January 2009 when Jeff Wallace was hired the band's Bassist.

With the sounds of a mixture between Disturbed, Pantera, Alter Bridge, Sevendust, & Slayer, DOWN TO REST was ready to take their original style of Heavy Metal to a whole new level.

DOWN TO REST (aka “DTR” as their loyal hardcore fans like to call them) started to demo their songs at Studio Chicago in November of 2008 with producer Chris Guerzo (Chris G. Productions) & at WuLi Records in the early start of 2009 with owner/producer/engineer Louis Svitek (former Ministry / M.O.D. / Mindfunk guitarist).

In their very short time being a band, DOWN TO REST really came together and start to snowball onto the music scene in March of 2009 with their very first public appearance for a T.V. performance & interview with Tattoo Factory TV which aired on Chicago's WPWR / My50 television station. Their first concert was played 4 days after that in Janesville, WI at venue known for hosting national & regional bands. From that point, they kept moving forward, writing more material, and scheduled & played numerous shows each month.

2009 already has been a productive & very busy year for this original metal quartet. Recording back & forth in two of the best Chicago recording studios on a monthly basis, Regional Concerts Played, Photo Shoots, Three T.V. Taping Appearances for local networks, Local Area Sponsorship, Rock Scarz Magazine Features, all while constantly writing more music & playing out Live. It's no wonder their popularity continues to grow on a daily basis.

DOWN TO REST puts on a great Live show in concert. The chemistry between the band members & interaction with the fans is truly amazing. These 4 individuals in “DTR” definitely have a 100% passion for the music they play, and it shows in their recorded songs & live on stage.

During the late months of 2009, DOWN TO REST is busy recording thier debut album in Chicago, IL with Producer Manny Sanchez over at I.V. Lab Studios with a Spring 2010 tentatively scheduled release date .
