The band was formed on the 13th of March 2003 in Novi Sad. The founders are Marko (drums), Nenad (guitar) & Ivan (bass). The three of them managed to create 4 songs before Vule joined them as vocalist. He stayed in the band only for a short period and was soon replaced by Tara. After a seemingly desperate search for a second guitar player, Buda (solo guitar) joins and the line-up is finally complete. After two years, in the summer of 2005, Buda leaves the band and Strahinja joins as second guitar and not longer after that Tara also leaves (in order to work on other project) and was replaced by present vocalist Alen. DEFILEMENT had their debut on stage in the NS Riders Club on the 9th of October 2003. They had their 2nd gig at the same place, exactly seven months after the band's 1st rehearsal (on the 13th of November), which is why they named this concert “Seven months of torturing”. The band celebrated their first anniversary by releasing their 1st demo LP called Necrothedral, which included 6 songs. At that time they started joining bands such as SACRAMENTAL BLOOD and HERETICAL GUILT on stage, but the first concert really worth remembering was when they played with VADER (Poland) in July 2004 and soon afterwards with CANNIBAL CORPSE (USA), both in Belgrade. Numerous gigs throughout Vojvodina and one in Croatia followed. Another gig certainly worth mentioning was on Halloween 2004 when they played with ANCIENT CEREMONY (Germany) in Novi Sad. Their 2nd release Sickness features also an intro (beside the 6 tracks previously recorded on Necrothedral) and a far better production
