Биография : Decadence (RUS)

The band appeared first at 1992. The first members were Roman Korelsky and Sergey Kozhin. Roman still was going to school and Sergey was a student of Arkhangelsk Forest Engineering Institute (renamed later into Arkhangelsk State University). They created a program, full of youthful maximalism and ambitions. Two compositions of that program (“Red Giants And Blue Dwarves” and “Dancing Bells”) are included in “Dreams Of Nekton”. Name of band (still implicit and imaginary) “Decadence” was devised in that time too. A year later, Roman entered to Arkhangelsk Musical College to guitar class. He met Julia and Mikhail there and they become friends. Julia studied at piano class and Mikhail studied at guitar class. Also Roman introduced his new friends to Sergey. Mikhail introduced them to his old friend Vasily, who was drummer. The band practically did not exist then, because Roman was absorbed absolutely in his studies and all his thoughts were busy of achievements of art of guitar playing and musical theory. And in that time, Sergey, Mikhail, Vasily and another Sergey, they assembled together in new project “Thanelorn”, that existed during a half a year and did not leave any records.

On graduating at Musical College, Roman, Julia and Mikhail decided to revive Decadence and begun rehearsals. In that time, Sergey graduated from the University and started working as programmer in commercial bank, therefore the close mutual relations with him were interrupted. But after unsuccessful searches for proper bass guitarist they applied to Sergey and he agreed to take part in new (and still old) project. Julia entered to Petrozavodsk Conservatory to piano class as a student of a correspondence then. Thus, revived Decadence appeared then, that was a January of 1998. The band prepared new program, “Dreams Of Nekton” and begun concert appearances.

The band made concerts in Mirny (town where Russian space center is situated), Severodvinsk (town of nuclear submarines producing) and Segezha (town in Karelia Republic in Russian Federation, where annual rock-festival runs). Also the band took a part in the guitar music festival (Arkhangelsk), “Belomor-Boogie” rock-festival (Arkhangelsk too) and arranged several concerts in Arkhangelsk. From April to October of 1999 band was engaged in recording of its first album at JanVar Studio in Arkhangelsk. Now the band is preparing the materiel for new album.
