Curse is a solo project of Eldur,wich is maybe better known from the band Potentiam.Curse performs an aggressive and atmospheric black metal with sometimes Viking and/or symphonic feel to it.The lyrics are of a spiritual nature and sometimes tales inspired by the ancient,pagan Icelandic backround or even theories wich are born under the mystic and maybe pointless force of existence.Dark is the world around us and in this cruel existence there´s only the nature´s law,the strong ones will survife.In the endless battle of beliefs and dominions the Human spreads out like a sickening virus,eventually leading to annihilation where no beuty dwells.There is no room for love to this grim and hateful world as darkness prevails and the Curse is forever.

In the dark year 1995,on the pagan soil of Iceland,Eldur(guitars,bass) formed a blackmetal band with Sveinn (drums) wich got the name Thule.After only few rehersals they had already added two new members,Lucifer(guitars) and Egill (vocals).After only few weeks of that lineup the band recorded their first promo including 2 songs.

After some debate between members,Lucifer left the band in ´96 and later that year another 2 song promo was recorded.Those two songs appeared on an Icelandic Metal compilation CD “Fire & Ice” wich was released in 1000 copies.

In early ´97 there were some serious changes done with Thule. Eldur saw no point in having Egill as a vocalist no more,not only for his terrible voice but also for his serious lack of commitment to the band(And later the BM scene in general).So it was Eldur that now took over the vocals and invited Lucifer and Berti(bass) to join in the first time full lineup of Thule.With this lineup,Thule played live for the first and the last time.3 new songs were now recorded and Thule released their first demo of the total 7 songs on a split tape with Asmodeus.That demo was sold out in only 100 copies.In that period,Thule got offers from few small label in Europe but nothing they excepted.Later that year,Eldur also formed another band named Potentiam with his warbrother Forn.Potentiam is today signed at Avantgarde/Wounded love records.

In the celbration of Christ´s death,the eastern holyday of´98 Thule recorded 4 new songs wich never saw the light of day because the band completely died soon after with the parting of Sveinn,the drummer.Eldur on the other hand wanted to keep on going with the same evolution as he was heading with Thule so he decided to form a solo project,namely Curse.This way there would be no more trouble or lack of dedication with band member and Eldur could evolve musically with more speed and freedom. Eldur is planning on recording some of the Thule material again in the Curse style but nothing has been finally decided yet.In that year the first Curse demo was recorded including 6 songs but one of them got damaged and could not be released.

This demo however wasn´t released until in ´99 when Eldur had recorded 5 new songs.The overall 10 track demo CD got the name “Dimensions Of Scattered Sound And Silence”. There were only around 50 copies released of that demo and very few went out in public since Eldur was mainly looking for a label support.

In December ´00,No Colours and Curse made a deal for 2 Fullength album and 1 Mini CD.

The Mini CD was released in ´01 entitled “Cursed Be Thy Name”,including 3 songs.

And soon this year the debut album will be released from Curse,with 8 songs and total of 57 minutes.Watch out this summer for “Dead Sun Rise”!!!
