Биография : Carcariass

Carcariass is a Death Metal band, created in 1991, originating from Besançon (France). The current line-up is Pascal Lanquetin (guitars), Raphaël Couturier (bass and vocals) and Bertrand Simonin (drums).
In August 1994, the band recorded its first demo of 20 minutes on a cassette, composed of 4 songs + 1 intro. Through this demo, the band has acquired a certain recognition and it has played with bands in different concerts, notably with the Italian band Sadist, at the time of their French tour in March 1995, where Carcariass introduced the concerts.

Since 1995 the band has been playing Melodic Brutal Death Metal. And now, since 1997, the band evolved in a Technical and Melodical Death Metal

In February 1997, the band released its first CD (9 songs) entitled "Hell On Earth", from which one song ("To Be With You ... In Your Grave") was distributed with the CD compilation of the Metallian magazine, which sold 20 000 copies throughout France. Then the band played throughout France with local bands and introduced the English band Cradle of Filth at Strasbourg in April 1997.

In January 1998, the song "Brain Dead" was distributed with the CD compilation of Hard Rock Magazine (40 000 copies throughout France, Canada, Belgium, Switzerland, Italy), and in the CD compilation of Hard Rock Magazine "Special Extreme Music" (40 000 copies in the same contries). Carcariass is actually very well-known in France, and probably one of the best French death metal band specialized in melodic and technical metal.

In September 1998, the band recorded its second CD at the impuls studios in Belgium. They appeared on several compilation CD after that.

In September 2001, Carcariass recorded its third album at LB-LAB near Lille and is available at Adipocere Records.

In January 2004, Jérome Lachenal joined the band as a second guitarist.

The fourth album entitled "E-xtinction" is available since June 24 2009 through Great Dane Records. It was recorded in Carcariass' personal studio and again mixed by Stephane Buriez.
