Burning Darkness started February 2000 by Alrinach (Drums), Mathias (Bass) and Josephine (Keyboard). Mathias put out advertised on Skunk for a guitar player. Thomas Germanizer answered and joined the band. After Germanizer we decided to look for another guitar player and Manuel joined but after a few rehearsals we decided to kick him He was replaced by Sephlebus from Svartur Dödur Skuggan joined the band after an audition we had. The members for this line up was Alrinach: Drums T Germanizer: Guitar Sephlebus: Guitar Mathias: Bass Josephine: keyboard Skuggan: Vocals We did a couple of songs with this line up. Before the summer 2000 Josephine quit the band due to personal reasons. But she came back 2 weeks later after the incident. Now we were rehearsing for our first gig that took place in Västerås. A week before the gig we decided that it was time for Josephine to leave the band. After the first gig there were a lot of songs that should be recorded so we headed for Trångsund to a studio called "Chaos Practice" which is owned by Jari Lindholm. We recorded our first demo called "Risen out of Hell. During the summer 2001 Mathias was replaced by Ishamael on bass. We decided that because Mathias was going to do his military service and we did not have time to wait for him. A couple a months later Sephlebus decided to quit the band also because he did not have the time play a 100%. He was replaced by Joel Brink on guitar. For the time now we had many new songs to record so we decided to go back to "Chaos Practice" and record our demo called "As Night Falls". We recorded that demo in the beginning of 2002. During 2002 there was a couple of things that happened T Germanizer changed instrument from guitar to Keyboard and later on he decided to quit and was followed by Joel Brink. After that happened we were three members left, Alrinach, Ishamael and Skuggan. Alrinach convinced Joel to come back and so he did. So now we were 4 members. We had some gig during the autumn of 2002 and we had a session bass player called Erik Holmberg He did 2 gigs with us and that was it. In mars of 2003 we recorded our new demo called Rites of Mist. And our new session bass player Moncho played the bass on the demo. We did a couple of gigs with him and he is our session player. During the same year Mortisaga joined the band as the band Synthesizer. Short while after she joined Ishamael and Skuggan left the band due to personal reasons with the other band members. Friday the 21:st of November Crast joined the band as the new singer Now we are 4 members left but the flag of Burning Darkness is still Burning.
