Биография : Atrocity (USA-2)

ATROCITY started back in the heyday of the metal underground. Not to be confused with the German band, ATROCITY was formed in early 1985 in Torrington, Connecticut by Rob Wedda (V), Rich Flint (B), Scott Reynolds (G) and Jeff White (D) and Bill Daner (G). The band is/was influenced by underground genres from thrash to hardcore and punk to death metal as well as classic metal. By 1989 the band had pushed out three demos („Toxic Death”, „Ravaged by Disease”, „Mangled”) and a self-financed 7 EP entitled „Hatred Birth”. Bill left the band soon after „Ravaged By Disease” and was not replaced. ATROCITY soon caught the attention of U.K. based Metalcore Records, a subsidiary of Plastic Head Distribution, to with they ultimately signed with. ATROCITY's first album - „Infected” (1990), is very raw and featured a very violent death metal/grind sound. Reviews of „Infected” landed ATROCITY into the ranks of early Napalm Death and Repulsion. The second album „The Art of Death” (1992) saw a line-up change when Scott left the band and was replaced by Jesse Piechowski on guitar. „The Art of Death” is also better produced, but the band's aggressive mix of death and grind was still prevalent. ATROCITY disbanded in 1993 but now are back to write new noise with the original album line-up. May 2007: as they say history tends to have a way of repeating itself; due to personal issues Scott was once again replaced by Jesse. This transition has proven to be a solid line-up for the new album which was recorded at UP Recording Studio with Simon Tuozzoli and produced by ATROCITY and Tuozzoli. It's titled „Let War Rage” and contains 18 tracks of the best old school American death metal mixed with punk, hc and grind influences!
