Биография : Art Of Simplicity

In an effort to play the music they wanted to listen to, balancing both “simplicity” and “art”, Art of Simplicity were formed in 2003 by Matthew Dakoutros (violin) and Nikos Miras (drums). Merging different kinds of music on a metal canvas, AoS have received much appreciation around the world and have established themselves as a very promising act. The band has been influenced by a vast variety of innovative music genres and groups, creating a diverse and intense atmosphere through social and psychological themed lyrics. All of the above have been delivered by established musicians of the Greek rock and metal scene. After releasing their demo CD “Asymmetric” in 2005, which was awarded the title “Demo of the Month” in various magazines and webzines, they released their debut album “caught in this Iless storm” in 2007. It was met with positive reviews and positioned AoS as a newcomer worth checking out. It showcases the band’s capability of playing progressive metal in the vain of Pain of Salvation and Fates Warning, whilst also demonstrating a more personal sound. The band performed all over Greece in the following years and even opened for Deadsoul Tribe. After a break for regrouping and repurposing, adding Chris Kounelis (vocals), Dim Koskinas (guitars) and George Pagidas (bass) on the line up, Art of Simplicity worked with Yiannis Fasoulakis at Uprising Studios for their second album. Fans expressed growing expectations and in 2016 “When Fables Have a Bitter Taste” was released. It met with enthusiasm, gained only positive reviews from all over the world and was placed in various “Best of the Year” lists. The strength of the band’s sound, intense atmosphere, elaborate arrangement and outside the box songwriting became even more prominent. After two years of performing, the band started working on their next album “The Chains that Bind us” planned for a 2019 release with “Invocation”, the album’s first single, being released in September.
