Биография : Alughana

Alughana is made up of 8-9 playes, that after several line-up changes and searching for an own style, got its final form in 2001. The band is based at Wommelgen, a village close to Antwerpen in West Belgium. They rehearse there in the local old fortress, where they work hard to create their own mix of recognizable musical styles and influences. When at the end of 2001 a violin player joined the band they were finally ready for playing live at the stages of Belgium's Flanders. With the help of various traditional instruments like the bagpipe, Accordeon, didgeridoo and flute, combining this with various electrical insturment and samplers, they play a mix of folk metal, ambient and other gneres. Lyrics are also an important part of their music, and to put emphasis on the phantasyfulness of their music, they sing in their mothertongue dutch as wel as in "Alughian". During 2002 they played festivals like the Dourfestival, Standrock Ieper, "Music in the neighborhood" (at Antwerp) and Brugge 2002. They continued to play festivals in 2003 such as Mano Mundo, Suikerrock, Paulusfeesten Oostende en Zomer van Antwerpen. Together with 9 other groups they appeared on a "100% pure talent" album in 2003, and in 2005 they made their own first releas called "Yaba!"
