Albert Fish is a Lisbon based band, inspired by punk-rock. We began in 1995 and gave owr first gig on the third of december that same year, in a concert room named jukebox. 1996 brings a lot more concerts, and the first demo- tape called "We don..t eat children for breakfast". 1997 brings the recording of another demo-tape called "six pack", wich brings more concerts to the band, and a larger exposure to a wider audience. This was also the result of interviews in several fanzines, references in the portuguese mainstream press, the winning of the demo of the week in one of the radios with larger audiences in the portuguese cenario FM Radical (allready extinct), and interviews in several radios (specially a one hour special about the band in the also extinct Super FM). All this awakened the interest of a portuguese label, leading to the recording in 1997, of what would came up to be a mini-cd and the bands first real work. Yet, after some misunderstandings between both sides, the band abandones the label and the recording becomes a demo, released in 1998 with the title of "Take a breath with...". By this time, the band had already played almost all the main stages in portugal and shared them with dozens of bands. Naming a few stages- Jukebox; Johnny Guitar; Rockline; Marquês; Ritz and many other obscure and temporary holes. In 1999, a line-up change puts a temporary ending in the band, that comes back in 2000, with a diferent formation. In 2001 a promo-cd is recorded, breaking the international underground scene. A compilation with several bands of other countries, brings more projection, and interviews in fanzines and websites, from canada to australia. 2002, brings the first album called " Strongly Recommended", released by Anti-corpos DIY and Zerowork Recs. In 2003 apart from the regular concerts in Portugal, the mini-tour with the Varukers thru Portugal and Galiza. This same year the first and only european tour so far, including dates in Basque country, Holand, Germany, Hungary, Italy and Catalunya sharing the stage with many bands, like Zounds(Crass records) and Possible Suspect (MadButcher). In August a 2 days music festival, sharing the stage with Inadaptats, Skarnio and Banda Bassoti. On the return a concert opening up for Lagwagon, and then for Skaparapid. 2004 begins with Albert Fish album, on the pages of the most ranked portuguese music newspaper Blitz. This is dued to the readers vote, to the chart for the best albums of 2003. In February more concerts in Catalunya, and a concerts recorded by a t.v. channel to be transmited on a program of music. Summer brings concerts with Neverwas (Italy), Garotos Podres (Brazil) and Iszonyat and Katéter (Hungary). October brings a participation in a tribute to a portuguese pop band called Delfins with the song " Marcha dos desalinhados" 2005 less concerts to focus on new songs to a new album to get out somewhere in 2006, and to end the year the participation in the II Urban Beast Festival ( Ciudad Real, Spain) with among others, Los Fastidios (Italy), Brigada Flores Magon (France), Malas Cartas (Spain) and Opció K-95 (Spain). 2006 starts with a brasilian tour with Garotos Podres and the release of the "Garotos Podres/Albert Fish" split CD (that includes videos from both bands). Also some gigs with bands like Deadline (Uk) and Klasse Kriminale (It) come before 2007. The band are now preparing new album and other surprise.
