Iron Roses

From 2023 The Band's Page

Rina was born in Tokyo and raised in the fast-moving, noisy districts surrounding Harajuku and Shinjuku. She discovered rhythm through street percussion, performing with makeshift drum setups and metal objects as a child. Her raw technique and fearless energy drew crowds long before she ever owned a professional drum kit.

As a teen, she joined garage bands and underground metal groups, developing a reputation for powerful double-kick work and expressive, chaotic drumming. Her natural intensity made her a standout among local musicians.

Musical Development:

Rina’s biggest inspirations include Tommy Lee’s theatrical showmanship, Scott Travis’ machine-like precision, and Japanese rock drummers who blended technical skill with emotional flair. She also absorbed elements from street performers — fast accents, metallic textures, and improvisational fills.

Her style is loud, relentless, and full of personality — the beating heart of Iron Roses’ heavier compositions.

Joining Iron Roses:

Introduced to the band through Mei Suzuki, Rina attended an early rehearsal and immediately connected with the group’s concept. Her audition impressed Yumi and Hana instantly, completing the lineup described in the band’s main biography.

Role in the Band:

Rina provides the explosive rhythmic force of Iron Roses. Her drumming drives the band’s momentum, adding the intensity and theatricality needed for their steampunk-metal narratives. She excels at dynamic builds, double-kick patterns, and expressive, dramatic fills.

Personality:

Offstage, Rina is famously deadpan — rarely smiling, speaking minimally, and giving off a “bored but lethal” vibe fans adore. Onstage, that calm transforms into raw energy and focused aggression, making her one of the band’s most iconic personalities.
