The way of the progressive: Conceptual album strikes again!

And in a very good way, this time. I'm not a huge fan of progressive metal, but I know this band since their first Demo and their first Melodic ways and sincerely... Seems like I prefer the progressive way of them, better than the Melodic.

First the bad news: I know it's their full-length album, but I think it lacks vocal power. Some times looks like he tries to reach, but it's a vision. Fortunately, when he sings in a more paused way, sounds like heaven. And the little intermissions of harsh vocals in some songs create a violent vision that, fortunately, also fits with the plot of the story.
Second thing: I know some things about mythology theories about the origins of humanity and the "space speculations", because a friend of mine has a lot of knowledge about that and more or less I know what's going on in the Mesopotamian theories and, for one tag that they have in their bandcamp, it totally lost relevance in this field. The tag is "Sithcin". I'm very sorry of Ipsilon, but they used a too speculative and the least demonstrable theory about humanity creation... and there comes the but.

But for a progressive album, they've chosen a very imaginative and manageable theory to create a very good story about the life of Enki. The space ambiance, captured already on their first releases, fits very well on the concrete ambiance of the story. Just seeing the image of the album makes me want to listen it, and it's caused by a famous artist that worked for Magic the Gathering and Game of Thrones, Tomasz Jedruzek (like they say in their bandcamp page). This band has the support of prestige artists and producers, like Orden Ogan sound engineer and Barón Rojo, Opera Magna and BiosFear members, to master the creation of the album and have a good base for the future.

The future. That's it. Ipsilon is standing up for the resurrection of progressive metal in Spain and some other bands are starting to follow the same ways. Someone saw Ipsilon in a show and thought: That's de start shot. I'm personally expecting good critics about this album and I hope this is not a vision and Progressive Metal is coming back to Spain with Ipsilon at it's front.

17 / 20 for this mythological creation!
