Every so often, a local band comes along that just blows your mind, and for me, this band was Postmortem Panty Raiders (PMPR). A local 'supergroup' from members of bands such as Dissolution, Putrescence, Krull, Beyond Betrayal, In 2 Months and more, these guys have the experience needed to pull off this project, which some people may find it a bit ridiculous.

Dick Full of Sores II is a reincarnation of the original demo, plus two tracks, and much better production. Originally, Avulsifier recorded all guitars, bass and vocals on the first release, using a drum machine as no drummer was available, but this release has all current members playing their respective instruments. Some tracks have been re-vamped and whole sections added, which makes this a much improved version.

Firstly, the production is thick and full sounding. One of the better self-released cd's I've heard in a long time. The kick comes through a little strong, and the guitars could have sounded a little beefier, but again, compared to the original, this production blows that thin, frail mix away!

Using a triple vocal threat, the band has no problems getting it's point across. Whether it's about sex with corpses, keeping body parts under your stairs, catching a dead hooker instead of a fish when fishing or getting busted trying to find love in a morgue, PMPR has a morbid humor not easily found elsewhere.

The songs are of average length for the style, but if I had one major complaint, it would be that I want more! The album doesn't have any genre defining music, and it's not anything you haven't heard before, but it is catchy, and easy to listen to over and over.

Fans of brutal death metal should definitely pick this album up, you won't regret it!
