Having been forced into searching for a new band member when Matt reluctantly withdrew from the lineup, due to work and family commitments, in December 2012. The calls immediately went out to find his replacement. Band manager 'The Glove' said " We would like to publicly thank all the great players that applied. I would also like to thank Dan Veall and the guys over at http://basschat.co.uk/Jake Archer for their help in securing the talented Mr Archer."

Jake Archer, previously of Progressive Metal band EnTro-P, was the successful applicant from the influx of interested players. He was announced as the band's choice on their website, http://www.thekarhugroove.com/. Jake has been playing music since the age of 10 and due to his eclectic Taste and musical upbringing, he has established himself as a multi-instrumentalist specializing in bass guitar. He has been involved in many different musical genres showcasing his talents on drums, electric and acoustic guitar, banjo and trombone. He has also be recruited as a session musician with local bands and has done various one off gigs and recording including a tour in France. In 2011 Jake began working with Spector Bass Guitars, he currently plays a 5 string pro series in cherry Red named "Betsy".
Founder member Joseph Parry said " Like the rest of the band, I am really looking forward to working with Jake. Having spoken with him for a few hours on Skype, he's intelligent, funny, great sense of humour, interesting and knowledgeable. He is already hard at work preparing for the bands second UK tour scheduled for 10th to 24th May 2013, which if all goes to plan, will Kick off on Jakes home turf."

Also announced this week was confirmation that the documentary, being shot to accompany the bands album release in May, has been completed on schedule.
The 30min video with the working title, 'The Story So Far', introduces fans to the humour and characters in both the band and close supporting roles. It also acts as a thank you to the supporters in these early days and gives a snapshot of the preparation and early performances of Karhu.
