Biografia : Zarathustra (GER)

Zarathustra was founded in summer 1996. The bandname goes back to F. Nietzsche, author of „Antichrist“ & „Thus spake Zarathustra“. The past founder members were Alastor (vocals), Mersus (drums), Manox (lead guitar) and Disruptor (guitar).

F.T. joined the ranks on bass in autumn 1997. Shortly after, the first demo „Black Perverted Aggression“ was recorded. With this demo some reasonable successes could be achieved, because even then the potential was recognizable.

You could also experience Zarathustra live at a few underground gigs, among other things with Desaster, Pagan Winter, Witchburner, Impending Doom, Siebenbürgen, Homicide etc.........

In November 1998 the second demo „Heroic Zarathustrian Heresy“ was recorded. This demo was accepted very well in the scene, as it reflected the original force and rawness of Black Metal perfectly.
Shortly after the issue of the second demo Manox left the band for individual reasons, whose place Mentor from Homicide took over as a session-guitarist, before Kerberos joined the ranks in August 1999 as a full-time lead-guitarist.

In summer 1999 Undercover Records offered the band a contract, which was also signed. The first result of this co-operation was the reissue of the „Heroic Zarathustrian Heresy“ Demo on MCD, limited to 1.000 copies.

In December 1999 the first entire album „Dogma Antichrist“ was recorded in the Music - Parc Studio. The album contains 10 Tracks (incl. Intro & Instrumental) of traditional Black Metal with casual influences out of the Death/Thrash field.
Just like the previous releases, the application of keyboards and female vocals was also renounced this time. The album contains Thrash songs („Dissenter´s blood“), fast Black Metal songs („Torment written in flesh“, „Yearning for deliverance“) as well as powerful, mid-tempo orientated songs („Beyond infinity“, „Seek the truth“).
After the release of „Dogma Antichrist“ a big amount of gigs were played, among other things a mini-tour in East-Germany with Tsjuder and Sorhin.

Alastor decided to leave the band in the end of 2000. A last gig was played with him, as support for Impiety, Decayed and Abigail.

Beginning of 2001 Hurricane was recruited as session-singer for two gigs in Switzerland.

End of 2001 Disruptor left the band after several personal differences of opinion. From then on Zarathustra was only a 3-piece and one concentrated upon working in the new singer- and guitar aspirant, as well as on songwriting.

At last beginning of 2002 two new members were found in Hurricane (vocals) and Massacre Ghoul (guitar).

Since then the band could graduate a few strong gigs again, they showed Zarathustra from their strongest side til present.

In January 2003 Zarathustra was in the studio with the current line-up for the first time to record three new songs, whereof two will be released on the upcoming 7“ EP „Nihilistic Terror“ in April, which among other things contains a cover-song from the Australian legend Hobbs Angel of Death.

The second album will be recorded this summer apparently. Furthermore a few more songs for EPs and samplers are planned.........

The marks stand on storm....!!!
