Biografia : Unpure

Line-up:
Hräsvelg: Drums, vocals
Kolgrim: Bass, vocals
Aberg: Guitars
Vic: Guitars
The idea for the band actually came about a year before the band was born, when the first three of the original line-up were rehearsing just for a few couple of times.

The 28th of May 1992 the band played live for the first time, and got the opportunity to record a song for a comp.-cd (featuring only local bands), witch they did in August the same year. This song was re-released a few years later on the Napalm Records comp.-cd ”With us or against us”.
In the end of September they recorded their first demo. But they didn't release it until the 12th of February 93, when the band did their first real gig.
After the gig the two guitarists left the band, and a close friend of the band replaced them immediately.

Line-up 2:
Hräsvelg: Drums, vocals
Kolgrim: Bass, vocals
Surth: Guitars (later in Svartsyn)

The band did their next gig in the middle of June. But this line-up was never meant to be, it only lasted a few months, and Kolgrim and Hräsvelg continued on their own for a while.
Between the summer and autumn of 93 they recorded a huge amount of songs, and released some of them on their 2nd and 3rd demo.
In Late January 94 a new guitarist entered the band.

Line-up 3:
Hräsvelg: Drums, vocals
Kolgrim: Bass, vocals
Poock: Guitars (now in Obscura)

This line-up played live for the first time on the same festival as the previous gig. And in late October the band did their first ”unlocal” gig in Stockholm, together with Swedish acts Unanimated and Dark Funeral.
In early November Unpure signed Napalm Records for two albums, and got rid of their complicating guitarist.
Unpure recorded their first album between January and February 95, and it was released (with a front cover that the record company fucked up) in late April, same year.

In September a session-member line-up was made.

Line-up 4:
Hräsvelg: Drums, vocals
Kolgrim: Bass, vocals
Vic: Guitars (original guitarist, later in Bonegrinder)
John Blackwar: Guitars

With borrowed guitarists from the band Celestial Pain (Swe), Unpure started to rehearse material for a second album. They did a gig the 10th of November 95, and didn't get into the studio until early June 96. Due to irregular recording-time, they weren't able to finish the album until late August (but on the other hand Napalm rec. were able to fuck up another album cover), and after that Kolgrim and Hräsvelg was back on their own again.

In September they hit they studio again and recorded the song ”Metal Night” for the three-series ”Headbangers against Disco” comp.-singels.

October 96: Coldland is released.

In late January 97, Unpure started rehearsing with a session-drummer (another close friend who had jammed a lot with the guys through the years), for an European tour that unfortunately never went off.

Line-up 5:
Hräsvelg: Guitars, vocals
Kolgrim: Bass, vocals
Jonathon: Drums

However, Unpure decided to rehearse some new songs with this line-up, and they hit the studio again and recorded a 5-track promo at the end of the same year (,some of these track were to be used later, for various comp.-cd"s).
And on the 8th of April - following year - they joined the "Easter holocaust tour". A four day tour in Finland with Babylon whores, Barathrum and Wizzard (Fin).

August 99: Unpure does a small gig in Stockholm with 3 other bands. And shortly after in September, Unpure records 4 new songs. 2 self titled songs for a split single with Japanese band Sabbat, and 2 covers for 2 different tribute albums.

The band took a few months break after the recordings, but in April 2000 they returned on a small gig in Västeras together with Suicidal winds (Swe). And about a month later they were ready to attend the "Desaster Metal Meeting" in Koblenz (Ger), together with Impiety (Sin) and Blizzard (Ger).

Summer 00: Drakkar productions offered Unpure a record deal for 2 albums, Unpure accepted.
But first they did a mini-tour in Finland and Sweden together with Sabbath and Urn (Fin) and also
In Aeternum (Swe) who featured on some of the gigs.

Then it was time to follow up "Coldland" with a new album, and in late November Unpure began the recordings for the 3rd album "Trinity In Black" .

Shortly after the final recordings Unpure did a gig in Berlin the 25th of December together with some German acts and Amon Amarth (Swe). Although drummer Jonathon got a bad case of the flue on the trip down to Germany, he managed to play with a high fever.

March 23, Unpure opens for In Aeternum in Gävle.
June 21, Unpure does another gig in Koblenz togehter with opening act Watain (Swe), and the 23rd they were the headliners at the Drakkar Hellfest in hhASHF ,France.

July 27, Unpure plays on the opening day on the Open hell festival in Volynz, Chech republic.

After a long wait of various fuck up"s, "Trinity In Black" is finally released in Aug 01.

In the end of November Unpure recorded some songs for upcoming singles, the recording was kept pretty simple and more like a rehearsal.

December 25, Unpure attends the 7th Fucking Christmas Festival in Berlin, for the second time.

In the middle of February Unpure was getting ready for a 7 day European tour, with support act Watain. But on the day of the departure Hräsvelg was unable to attend the tour, due to illness. But the problem was soon solved as Tore from Watain, learned some of the songs during the trip, and was able to fill in on bass, forcing Kolgrim to fulfill the guitar duties.
